3 Cups of Coffee in Europe – that is, Europe’s best cafés

Often, in the world of blogs, we tend to hype over all the amazing finds we have made during our extra spectacular travels. So, on the contrary to the typical, today I am going to be a strictly objective blogger, and write about the candidates for Best Independent Coffee Shop in Europe 2016, according to the European Coffee Symposium. The candidates were Dublin’s 3fe, Amsterdam’s Bocca Coffee Roasters and Bath’s Colonna & Small’s, which won the competition.

At some point of the journey, I realized that leisurely visiting tourist attractions and admiring the views in peace had reduced into minute estimations of timetables. The M25 circling London had changed to the M3, which descends to southern England, and this in turn to A303, which winds through the hilly English countryside dotted with fields and sheep. Herne Hill Sunday Market

When moving into an unfamiliar city, it is nice to see how the old routines are being folded and left to dust in their drawers, and new rituals taking their places. In Dublin, the cosiest rituals included long breakfasts in Brother Hubbard and walking around the sunny city. I haven’t yet managed to find a similar source of Bircher muesli in London, but the coffees, cakes and dumplings from Herne Hill’s Sunday Market make up for this lack just splendidly!
