Teeleidi tearoom, Kramsunkatu 1, Jyväskylä

Teeleidi, that is The Tea Lady, offers exactly what you would think judging by its name: a tasty cup of tea in elegant surroundings.

Teeleidi is located about ten minutes walk from Jyväskylä city centre, as they recently moved into an over 100-year-old wooden house. Nearby, you’ll find, for example, the Jyväskylä University campus, Alvar Aalto Museum and the Museum of Central Finland.

As I step in, a charming scent of tea surrounds me like a soft veil and reminds me of all those special moments of enjoying a cup of tea with friends. Wooden floors create a nice Scandinavian feel, and the rooms, or “salons” as I like to think, are half-full of chattering customers. In the main hall, you will find a selection of cakes and raw cakes, pies, tasty lemonades and refreshing ginger beer. Teeleidi also serves its own ice teas. At first glance, the tea selection might be confusingly vast as Teeleidi has over hundred teas in her selections. But fear not! A tea expert will help you to navigate the rough seas of teas!

Reasons to visit:

  1. Lovely, elegant olden times atmosphere – and the scent of tea!
  2. The brilliant tea selection
  3. Relaxed space to enjoy a quiet moment
